It can be very hard for people with eating disorders to get better alone without the right type of help. You might be worried about speaking to someone to get that help. You might be frightened of having to re-gain weight and what other people might think of you.

Telling someone how you feel is the first step towards getting better. Part of the help you receive might be to come into hospital for a while. This is to help you get some more understanding of the problems you are having and to start to look at ways of changing things.

Recovery takes courage and it can be hard to keep going. It can sometimes feel like you are taking one step forward and two steps back. It’s important to remember that recovery is worthwhile and it is possible. Many have done it, succeeded and moved on.
